Zurich   Today, the Swiss-based reinsurer Echo Re announced Paul Hertelendy as its new Chief Underwriting Officer. In this role, he will succeed Piotr Nowakowski who has been with Echo Re for 9 years and who is leaving the company to pursue a new professional challenge.

With more than 25 years of experience in the reinsurance sector, Paul Hertelendy is an extremely experienced and well-connected reinsurance manager. In addition to his expertise in Property and Specialty Lines business, he brings an excellent track-record in strategy and business development. Most recently, he was Chief Reinsurance Investment Officer at Bernina Re Ltd. and Head Reinsurance at Credit Suisse ILS Ltd. Before this he held the position of Chief Underwriting Officer Specialty Lines at SCOR for many years as well as he was a member of the Executive Committee of SCOR Services Switzerland.
